FAIRFIELD WRITERS’ GROUP
MEETING

The following key points were discussed in this meeting:
Book format
The group agreed that the list of contents would be sequenced as per the log lines and the format would be the same as for the 2009 anthology.
Where one author has submitted two stories, the bio will refer to the first.
Action: Lorraine to “mini-edit” the author profiles so as to fit the page
Copyright
If an FWG member wishes to publish their story elsewhere, it will be necessary to acknowledge that it was first published in our anthology.

We would be pledging our loyalty to the book by not publishing on the internet. . Decision was reached on the sketch for the cover.
Action Lorraine to write up a copyright policy and Anna to place on the blog.
E-book
It was agreed that we would postpone putting the second anthology on the internet until the appropriate time.
A flat one-off licence fee of approx. $100 would apply.
Suggested options of placement:
· Own site (but would need to be promoted)
· Amazon
· Lulu.com – user pays; print on demand; hard copies can be ordered and will be mailed to customer
· Write-it now (UK) – welcome book reviews
· Other writing groups
Action Lorraine to send other options of where the book could be placed and she will send out to the group, along with the costs of what is involved.
Action Lorraine to make arrangements for the first anthology to be made into an E-book.
Marketing
The group agreed to the following for marketing the anthology:
· Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre (initially contact Centre Management about placing on Community Notice Board)
· Fairfield Library – posters, pamphlets and business cards
· Bookstore Café, Garden City – they sell new and used books
· TAFE colleges
· Councillors’offices
· Fairfield Newsagency
· Paddington independent bookshop
Action Lou to develop marketing proposal.
Action Lou to develop Order Forms for anthology
Action Helga (?) to order stamp for stamping on receipts
Procedures Manual
It was agreed that a procedures manual should be developed.
Action Lou to prepare and Jennifer to assist.
Co-ordinating location for Anthology
Action Lorraine to confirm whether a website could be established..
Story Sequence
Discussion of the sequencing of stories in the book was deferred until the next meeting.
A big thank-you to all those who are actioning items in the minutes.
